A rare and elusive Maugean skate has been spotted at the annual Cygnet Lantern Parade. The Maugean skate lives only in Macquarie Harbour on Tasmania's west coast, and is threatened with extinction, largely because of pollution from the industrial salmon farming operations in that fragile environment.
