At the world premiere of Amazon series The Narrow Road to the Deep North, the star, author and director all proudly wore Neighbours of Fish Farming's iconic t-shirt, 'Eating Salmon? Killing Tasmania' for all the world to see.

NOFF's statement, Eating Salmon Killing Tasmania, is going viral on social media today after Australian film star Jacob Elordi wore the message on a black t-shirt at the Melbourne premiere.

Elordi, star of Justin Kurzel's Amazon series 'The Narrow Road to the Deep North', appeared on the red carpet, with Tasmanian author, Richard Flanagan, and the Director.

The image of the three men wearing the iconic NOFF logo has already appeared in the Daily Mail on Line, in international film and TV websites, and in Hobart's Pulse, attracting tens of thousands of viewers.

"In light of the catastrophic disease outbreak affecting all of south east Tasmanian waterways, and revelations that diseased salmon flesh is being sold for human consumption, NOFF applauds Jacob Elordi's bold stance alongside two loyal, proud Tasmanians like Richard Flanagan and Justin Kurzel," says NOFF acting president, Lisa Litjens.

"Under the Tasmanian Food Act, 2003, it is illegal to sell the flesh of animals known to be diseased - whether or not that disease is dangerous to humans."
"This multi-national industry gets away with murder— with the Tasmanian government's support. The Tasmanian clean and green brand is no longer applicable to our waterways and marine life."

Jess Coughlan, Campaigner at NOFF says:

"This industry is surely in its sunset phase. We have just seen the RSPCA permanently revoke all endorsement of this industry in Tasmania. The impact that salmon farming is having on our World Heritage area and living dinosaur the Maugean Skate is so catastrophic, that the federal government has recently bulldozed our federal environment laws in order to safeguard continued operations from the law. This product is killing Tasmania."
