Cooke Chile salmon operations face ban for late mortality reports

Operations at nine of Cooke Chile's production sites have been slapped with court orders preventing them from producing for one production cycle after the company was found to have late reported mortalities.
Under rulings published on Friday Judge Dalia Illezca Carrasco at a court in Puerto Aysen also imposed a fine of around A$58,000 following a request from Chile's National Fisheries and Aquaculture Service (Sernapesca) in the Aysen region, after drawing attention to "the repeated nature" of reported health violations.
